Welcome to Prayer Tabernacle Church — a loving church family in Pontiac, Michigan where prayer, worship, and the Word of God shape everything we do. However you found us, we are glad you're here.

Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, fellowship, and service.

Our vision is to build a spiritually strong, loving, and united church family that shares the Gospel and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and the community.

Pastor Michael Vickers Sr. and First Lady Melissa Vickers are committed to serving God, strengthening families, developing disciples, and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ. Through prayer, biblical teaching, and compassionate leadership, they work to create a church where everyone can feel loved, supported, and spiritually encouraged.

Lead Pastor

Pastor Michael Vickers Sr.

Pastor Michael Vickers Sr. serves as Lead Pastor of Prayer Tabernacle Church. He accepted Christ in July 1990 and has continued to dedicate his life to serving God and His people.

Pastor Vickers has been married to Melissa Vickers since 1993. Outside of ministry, he enjoys reading and spending time with family at gatherings.

Associate Pastor

Pastor Michael Vickers Jr.

Pastor Michael Vickers Jr. serves as Associate Pastor of Prayer Tabernacle Church. He accepted Christ on August 27, 2010, and has developed a heart for helping others experience the love of Christ in a real and meaningful way.

He married Kaylyn Wright in 2026. In his free time, he enjoys sports, food, family gatherings, and listening to classical music.

Evangelist Stephanie Kittles-Ledwell

Evangelist Stephanie Kittles-Ledwell accepted Christ at the age of 13 and has developed a passion for sharing the Gospel with others.

She is married to Billy “Pete” Ledwell and enjoys cooking, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

Minister Quenten Matthews Jr.

Minister Quenten Matthews Jr. accepted Christ in 2019 and has a heart for allowing the love and light of God to be seen through his life and ministry.

He is married to Fantasia Vickers-Matthews and enjoys traveling and joy riding with his wife, along with spending time with family at gatherings.

Elder Gary Williams

Elder Gary Williams accepted Christ in 1991 and has a passion for helping others grow in their knowledge and understanding of God's Word.

He enjoys reading history books and bike riding in his free time.

His desire is to teach and encourage others so that they can better understand Scripture, grow in their faith, and develop a deeper relationship with God.

Prayer is the heartbeat of this church. We gather to pray on the phone and in the sanctuary, believing God hears and answers.

We worship freely and sincerely, giving God the honor He is due and making room for His presence.

Strong families make a strong church. We pour into marriages, parents, and young people.

What to Expect

Expect a warm greeting, heartfelt worship, sincere prayer, and biblical teaching you can carry into your week. Services last about ninety minutes. Families and children are always welcome, and no one is a stranger for long.
